Tours in Garfagnana !! | | If
want you are looking for is a cultural fix, through
visits to local sights if interest, such as the Medieval
Towns, Cities and sights such as caves and Castles in
the area, then tell us what you are wanting to do. We
have a selection of tours on offer with which one can
explore the valley of the Garfagnana, and the Cities of
Tuscany. Tours are fully escorted and you have the use

Tours to Lucca & Pisa from Garfagnana | |

Transport
from the valley of the Garfagnana to Lucca. Along the way we
will stop at the medieval bridge called the “Devils
Bridge” for time for photograph this masterpiece of
construction that spans the lower part of the river Serchio.
Onto Pisa first via the old raod. On arrival in Pisa we stop
close by the Piazza dei Mirracoli, so not far to go!. There is
the Leaning Tower , and when you see it for real, it is only
then you realise how much ot does lean. The baptistry and the
crematorium, as well as the Cathedral. A perfect set up. A
walk along the main shopping street to see the river Arno and
then it is time to move on.
Lucca,
is a small city, which some wish to by-pass. However there is
an atmosphere here that has long since been lost in other
Tuscan cities. The hum of activity, the locals at work and the
history of the city make for a great experience. A walk along
the 4km walls, where one finds a wide avenue, with the local
cyclists and walkers. There is the Cathedral with works of
art. The mumified body of Santa Zita in the the church of San
Frediano. The piazza antiteatro, built on the remains of the
Roman ampitheatre. There is alot to offer one in a day here,
Wednesday is market day. |

gallery. The Ponte Vecchio and Boboli Gardens are other most
sees, as is the amazing view from high from the Piazzale
Michaelangelo. After the Duomo and Santa Croce, one can then
attack the markets for a bargain, excellent leather and paper
products to be had. A beautiful city, busy but one can still
get away and have a good time…..!

Our tour takes us
from the Garfagnana, via the scenic mountain road from
Castelnouvo di Garfagnana. The road winds it way up into the
Alpi Apuane. Via places such as the old medieval centre of
Isola Sant and Arni, to the Passo Vestito. For a beautiful
descent down the mountains and past huge quarries, and
villages to Massa. Then onto Carrara and up into the mountains
again for a closer look at marble production and a quarry
tour. There are huge caverns to be seen, there is a museum on
marble production too. We see sculptors at work, and have the
chance to purchase some marble artifacts. Oour visit, if at
the weekend takes us into one of the largest marble caverns,
(numbers permitting)
5 Terre Tours

We take the train
from the Garfagnana via Aulla to Rio Maggiore for a full day
or more spent exploring the coast here. Walking, Biking or
Horse trekking along the coast here. The 5 Terre are 5
beautiful fishing villages on the coast here with a an old
trail that connects the villages, via vineyards & olive
groves...
